Africa is full of immeasurable potentials, and while structural reforms and significant economic investments are taking place, it is essential to strengthen the judicial system. The legal framework and court system need to provide a secure environment for businesses to effectively operate. There is therefore need for improved governance programming and implementation that integrates principles of transparency, accountability, participation and justice.
Modern state good governance programming recognizes the independence of the judiciary, but the governance state in Africa provides a very unhealthy business climate for entrepreneurs. Terrorism, corruption and lack of accountability discourage foreign investments and delay the integration of most African States into the Global economy. There is therefore, need to mobilize efforts to strengthen the judiciary systems in most African countries.
Having completed the Mandela Washington fellows in the United States of America and interacting with diverse professionals working around good governance and policy reforms in 2015, a group of young professionals working in the fields of Law have thought it wise to create an online platform to share with other legal professionals information, tools and best practices around issues related to Justice and ethics.
